Our women’s health appointments provide a confidential space to discuss a wide range of concerns, including period symptoms, perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes, intimate health concerns, urinary symptoms and incontinence, contraception and preventative health. We can also arrange appropriate investigations or refer you to a specialist where further assessment is needed.

Yes. We offer personalised support for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause, taking into account your symptoms, medical history and individual priorities. Depending on your needs, this may include lifestyle advice, appropriate investigations and discussion of treatment options, including hormone therapy where clinically appropriate. Complete Clinical Care also offers a separate hormone-treatment service for women who would like to explore this in more detail.

Not always. For many women aged 45 or over with typical menopause or perimenopause symptoms, diagnosis can often be made from symptoms and menstrual history without hormone blood tests. Blood testing may be useful in some circumstances — for example, if symptoms occur at a younger age or if your clinician wants to investigate another possible cause for your symptoms. We can recommend personalised blood tests where they are clinically appropriate.

Yes. We can arrange relevant blood tests and other investigations where clinically appropriate. If you need imaging, specialist tests or an assessment that is not provided directly at Complete Clinical Care, we can refer you to an appropriate specialist or service for further investigation.

Yes. You can discuss contraception as part of your women’s health consultation, including your preferences, medical history and whether a particular option is suitable for you. At Complete Clinical Care we can advise on and prescribe oral contraceptive pills where clinically appropriate; we do not currently fit coils or contraceptive implants. Both combined and progestogen-only contraceptive pills are established hormonal contraceptive options, although suitability varies between individuals.

Yes. Using private healthcare does not prevent you from continuing to use your NHS GP and NHS services. Private and NHS care are generally kept separate, but relevant information can be shared between healthcare professionals where appropriate to support safe, collaborative care.

You do not usually need to bring your entire medical record, but any relevant information can be very helpful. If you have recent blood-test results, scan reports, hospital letters, details of previous treatment or a list of your current medications, bringing these with you can help your clinician build a clearer picture of your health. Clinicians need sufficient information about your health to make safe treatment and prescribing decisions.
