PRP Joint & MSK Treatment Birmingham
At Complete Clinical Care in Edgbaston, Birmingham, we offer clinician-led platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for selected joint, tendon and musculoskeletal concerns. PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood and injected into the targeted area, where platelets and growth factors are thought to support the body’s natural repair response. Every patient undergoes an individual assessment first to understand the cause of their symptoms and determine whether PRP may be an appropriate treatment option.
MSK PRP treatment may be suitable for adults experiencing persistent joint, tendon or musculoskeletal pain and injury, particularly where symptoms are affecting movement, exercise or everyday activities. PRP may be considered as part of a personalised treatment plan for selected conditions including frozen shoulder, golfer’s elbow, meniscus tears and arthritis, as well as other tendon and joint problems.
Because the cause and severity of musculoskeletal symptoms can vary considerably, every patient should have an individual clinical assessment first to understand the problem, review previous treatments and determine whether PRP is an appropriate option.
Initial consultation is £75 | Sessions are £495 each

MSK PRP Initial Consultation
What Happens During an MSK PRP Treatment Session?
Your appointment follows a simple clinician-led process, from assessment through to targeted treatment and aftercare.
Clinical Assessment
Your clinician will review your symptoms, medical history and previous treatment before assessing the affected joint or soft tissue and confirming whether PRP may be appropriate.
Blood Sample
A small sample of blood is taken from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.
PRP Preparation
Your blood is placed in a centrifuge to separate its components and prepare the platelet-rich plasma for treatment.
Targeted Injection
The prepared PRP is carefully injected into the targeted joint, tendon or soft-tissue area using an assessment-led treatment approach.
Aftercare & Review
You’ll receive personalised aftercare guidance, including advice on activity and exercise, with follow-up or further treatment discussed if appropriate.

About Complete Clinical Care
FAQS
-
MSK PRP may be considered for adults with selected joint, tendon or soft-tissue problems, including conditions such as golfer’s elbow, meniscus injuries, frozen shoulder and some forms of arthritis. Suitability depends on the cause of your symptoms, your medical history and whether PRP is appropriate for the area being treated.
-
The number of sessions varies depending on the condition being treated and how you respond. Some patients may be advised to have a single treatment, while others may benefit from a short course followed by a clinical review.
-
You may feel some discomfort during the injection, particularly if the treatment is being delivered into a sensitive joint or tendon area. Your clinician will explain what to expect beforehand and will aim to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
-
Downtime is usually limited, but the treated area may feel sore, stiff or tender for a short period afterwards. You may be advised to temporarily reduce strenuous exercise or activities involving the treated area. Your clinician will give you personalised aftercare guidance based on the location and type of treatment.
-
PRP does not produce immediate results, and response times vary between patients and conditions. Some people may notice gradual changes over the following weeks or months, while others may require further treatment or rehabilitation. Your progress can be reviewed as part of your follow-up plan.
-
You may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise or heavy loading of the treated area for a short period after your PRP injection. The exact guidance will depend on the joint, tendon or soft tissue being treated and the nature of your condition. Your clinician will give you personalised advice on when to return to exercise and whether a gradual rehabilitation plan is recommended.
